Experienced Geologist Appointed to BPL Board

6 July 2012

A geologist with extensive experience in western New South Wales and the Broken Hill region, Mr Rob Barnes, has today been appointed a director of Broken Hill Prospecting Ltd (ASX: BPL).

Mr Barnes served as Chief Geoscientist (Minerals) in the NSW Department of Primary Industries from 2005 to 2010, and since then has worked as an industry consultant. He has been retained by BPL to advise on the company’s recent successful drilling programs to expand its cobalt deposit at Pyrite Hill, 25 kilomtres southwest of Broken Hill, and the discovery of the nearby Railway cobalt prospect. Railway is now the subject of a scoping study to investigate a 7.5 million tonne‐a‐year open‐cut mine with annual production of pyrite concentrate containing about 7,000 tonnes of cobalt.
