Geoff Hill says mining history is littered with new discoveries in old areas. “Kambalda is a classic. A gold area that is now one of the richest nickel provinces in the world.” Now, he believes, a similar story is emerging at Broken Hill. His Broken Hill Prospecting is proving up an inferred cobalt resource of 14 million tonnes of ore grading more than two pounds of cobalt per tonne at Pyrite Hill and Big Hill, 25km southwest of the old mining centre.
